How the online valuation works
To value a car we do not ask an expert and do not invent a coefficient. We take the live listings of your make, model and year of manufacture and compute the median — the middle of the market, where half the cars cost less and half cost more.
Along with the price you get the market core (where half of all offers sit), the price distribution, the price by year and how much the model loses each year. And, most importantly, the listings themselves — so you can verify every number yourself.
When a free valuation is not enough
The calculator values a segment: make, model, years. That is exactly what you need to tell whether the asking price is adequate at all. But two cars identical on paper can differ by thousands of dollars because of mileage, an accident, a rolled-back odometer or a foreign history. None of that is visible in a listing — it shows up in the report on a VIN or plate number.
Frequently asked questions
How do I value a car online for free?
Choose the make, model and years — the calculator instantly shows the median and average price, the market core, price by year and annual depreciation. No sign-up, no phone number.
How accurate is an online valuation?
It is as accurate as the market data behind it. We count the median across live listings for your make, model and year — not a guess and not one dealer’s opinion. The wider the sample, the tighter the range.
Why the median and not the average?
A handful of overpriced or damaged cars drag the average away from reality. The median is the middle of the market: half the cars cost less, half cost more.
Does the valuation account for mileage and condition?
The free calculator values a make/model/year segment. For a specific car — with its mileage, history and damage — use the full report on a VIN or plate number.
What is the market core?
The range where half of all offers sit (from the 25th to the 75th percentile). If a price falls outside it, the car is either unusually cheap or clearly overpriced.
The price is clear. What about the car itself?
A valuation is only half the answer. The second half — the history of the exact car you are about to pay for.
